Eighth Lantern? Who Dis?

We are a group of AAA veterans lighting our own path through some topsy-turvy times in the video game industry. We love making games and, let’s face it, it’s all we know how to do at this point. Our mission is to bring delight and joy to you, your families, and anyone who happens to be looking over your shoulder while you’re playing our games.

So… it involves rubber chickens, puppets, several crates of hand-me-down toys, and a heaping pile of guns. We could tell you more, but first we’d have to calibrate the cross-dimensional bobbly-whatsits, otherwise we could trigger another collapse in the fabric… and nobody wants that.

Cool, but what are you making?

So, are you indie, or AAA, or what?

We will have precisely as many A’s as we can get funding for, but after decades in the industry, we’ve learned to draw some boundaries. Here are some of them:

  • We are a fully remote team because we’ve experienced first-hand that it works great and the commute times are sick.

  • We want to stay small and agile so that we can stick to delivering focused experiences that players truly want.

  • We want to build our games in the open with your involvement. You’ll not get a grand Magnum Opus dumped on you with no warning. Maybe a Mongrel Opie or two, but that’s it, we promise.

  • We also want to make sure that our developers get a share of the profits, so you know that your hard-earned money is going directly to the people who brought you the aforementioned giggles.

  • Perhaps most of all, we don’t want to take ourselves seriously. Making games is hard work, and at the end of the day, we all just want to laugh. This should be fun for us and for you. The world needs more giggles, especially now.
