Eighth Lantern Studios Open for Business
Just Needs Something Called a “Fun-ding”

The forces of fate, inspiration, and mass industry layoffs have swirled together as Eighth Lantern Studios officially announces that it exists and is a thing. Founded by Gabriel Sheets, a 20-year veteran of the AAA video game industry, Sheets has assembled a crew of talented and storied game devs to create something they all agree is needed in the world right now: some feel-good action and a bit of levity.
“At Eighth Lantern Studios, our mission is to combine our AAA experience with fresh ideas to make games that give players a reason to laugh and just have fun with their friends. So, kinda like a finely-tuned gameplay whoopee cushion: timeless, endlessly replayable, and fun for all ages.”, says founder Gabe Sheets.
The team is stuffed with experience, hard-earned from working in the AAA trenches with studios like Activision Blizzard, Zenimax Online, Gunfire Games, The Initiative, and more. They’ve also got some newcomers who bring extra passion and fresh perspectives.
The studio is bootstrapping its first title, a third-person roguelite puppet shooter made in Unreal Engine, but is open to filling those boots with sweet, sweet investor cash, should the right partners come along.
While their game is in the ‘sketch, measure, and cut’ phase, it’s being sewn together at an impressive clip, and will be bursting at the seams with action, whimsy, and most of all: heart.
